The History of Stef Project
My name is Stefano, but to many friends and colleagues I'm simply Stef. Music has flowed through my veins since I picked up my first electric guitar at thirteen. Since then, I've had the privilege of performing on numerous stages and spending countless hours in recording studios, a journey that has shaped my passion and my experience.
The Turning Point in the Studio
The moment that changed everything came in 2014, during a recording session. A technical problem with my cable forced me to use one from the studio. I couldn't believe my ears: the tone and dynamics of my guitar had suddenly improved dramatically. It was a revelation.
I asked myself, "How is it possible that such an underrated element as a cable can influence sound so profoundly?" That same day, my curiosity turned into a full-blown quest. I tested different cables, discovering nuances and details I'd never noticed before. Without knowing it, at that moment, the idea for the Stef Project was being born.
The Birth of a Sound
In the years that followed, my research never stopped. I purchased and tested practically every cable on the market, from the most affordable to the high-end, noting every sensation, every nuance of tonal quality. I studied the technical specifications and delved into the complex interplay between materials and sound quality.
At the end of this long journey of studies and experiments, another question arose in my mind: “If the combination of materials has such a crucial influence, why has no one yet thought of creating a cable in this way?”
Thus, guided by this intuition, my first cable was born. Years later, I would call it SOUND START , a testament to the fact that my idea of sound, that relentless pursuit of timbral perfection, had begun right there.
The Present and the Future
After a decade spent perfecting my creations and creating my own line of cables, I knew it was time to share this passion. In February 2024, I decided that my story, my studios, and my cables should be available to all musicians and enthusiasts who, like me, believe that every detail counts when it comes to achieving perfect sound.
Today, Stef Project is a constantly evolving reality. I continue to dedicate my time to researching and developing new creations, exploring cutting-edge materials and technologies to push the boundaries. To promote my vision, I actively participate in Italy's most important art fairs and am constantly engaged in collaborations with talented artists, whose feedback is crucial to my growth.
My vision for the future is to develop the highest quality, increasingly precise systems to best support the performance of every musician and allow them to express their potential to the fullest.
